Epicor Version 9.05 and upgrading to Window 10

By Diane Stangle posted 11 Apr, 2018 12:35 PM

We are currently at version 905607B.  Upgrading to Epicor 10 is not an option at this moment.  Since Window's 7 will no longer be supported by Epicor in 2020, we are working on upgrading workstations to Window's 10.  Does anyone have any experience with an older version of Epicor on a Window's 10 workstation?

Epicor has informed me that E9 is not supported nor certified to work with Window 10.

Thank you for any feedback you can offer.

I agree with Calvin. We have been running Windows 10 since last year at a site with Epicor 9.05 - nothing unusual - works

Diane -  So far there is no issue with running Epicor's older software versions on Windows 10.  You will need to install the .Net version that your Epicor version requires - this is the only constraint we have found. By stating that the OS is not supported or certified, Epicor is only stating that they have not tested their software for that operating system.  We have clients running as old as versions 5.0 on Windows 10.  Please test your applications & 3rd party products before telling your end users they are ready to go.  Hope this helps, Calvin Dekker
